# Paperwhite Weather > Turn a used Kindle Paperwhite into a quiet, always-on e-ink weather dashboard The Python service fetches weather, renders a grayscale PNG at the Kindle's resolution, and serves it on the LAN. A jailbroken Kindle downloads the image, paints the e-ink panel, and sleeps. Install from GitHub; the project is not published to a package index. These pages cover the architecture, deployment, the Paperwhite 3, and the roadmap. ## Documentation - [Home](https://estcarisimo.github.io/paperwhite-weather/index.md): Landing page, how the dashboard works, and the skin gallery - [Architecture](https://estcarisimo.github.io/paperwhite-weather/ARCHITECTURE/index.md): Client-server design and the alternatives considered - [Deploying the service](https://estcarisimo.github.io/paperwhite-weather/DEPLOY/index.md): Raspberry Pi unit, routes, configuration, and checks - [Device notes](https://estcarisimo.github.io/paperwhite-weather/DEVICE/index.md): Kindle Paperwhite 3 notes, jailbreak runbook, and power - [Roadmap](https://estcarisimo.github.io/paperwhite-weather/ROADMAP/index.md): Sprint plan, finished work, and what is still open - [Repository state](https://estcarisimo.github.io/paperwhite-weather/REPOSITORY_STATE/index.md): Branch protection, security features, and CI
